Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 piece(s) ginger root, diced
  • 5 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sambal oelek
  • 200 g sugar
  • 200 ml water
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Ideal for grilling

Combine all ingredients except the sugar and water. Pour the sugar into a saucepan and heat. When it starts to melt around the edges, start stirring. Once all the sugar has melted (be careful not to over-brown it), carefully add the water. Then add the blended ingredients and continue heating until all the sugar has dissolved. Thicken to taste. It’s great with all types of meat and will keep in a screw-top jar in the refrigerator for almost a year.
