Apple Pie

The perfect apple pie recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 375 g Flour
  • 6 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 g Cold butter
  • 1 kg Tart apples
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Food starch
  • 0,125 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1 Egg yolk
  1. Mix flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar with a pinch of salt. Add pieces of butter and 4 tablespoons of cold water. Knead with your hands. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the apples, cut in half, core and cut into small pieces. Mix with cinnamon, 3 tablespoons of sugar, lemon juice and starch in a bowl.
  3. Roll out 2 / 3 of the dough into a circle and use it to line the mold. Pour in the apple mixture.
  4. Cut the remaining dough into strips and arrange them in a grid on the apples. Brush the dough with whisked egg yolks. Bake at 175 ° C for about 45 minutes. Let the apple pie cool down a little and enjoy lukewarm.
