Apple Pie
The perfect apple pie recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 375 g Flour
- 6 tbsp Sugar
- 1 pinch Salt
- 250 g Cold butter
- 1 kg Tart apples
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Food starch
- 0,125 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1 Egg yolk
- Mix flour, 3 tablespoons of sugar with a pinch of salt. Add pieces of butter and 4 tablespoons of cold water. Knead with your hands. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Peel the apples, cut in half, core and cut into small pieces. Mix with cinnamon, 3 tablespoons of sugar, lemon juice and starch in a bowl.
- Roll out 2 / 3 of the dough into a circle and use it to line the mold. Pour in the apple mixture.
- Cut the remaining dough into strips and arrange them in a grid on the apples. Brush the dough with whisked egg yolks. Bake at 175 ° C for about 45 minutes. Let the apple pie cool down a little and enjoy lukewarm.
