Zucchini gratin

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 800 g zucchini
  • 250 ml cream
  • 125 ml milk
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • n. B. Curry
  • 60 g cooked ham, diced
  • 75 g cheese, grated, to taste
  • Fresh herbs, to taste
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Clean the zucchini, halve it, hollow it out, and cut it into thin slices. Hollowing out the zucchini isn’t necessary, of course. Peel and chop the garlic, or press it through a press. Whisk together the cream, milk, garlic, spices, and herbs. Season the mixture thoroughly. Gently bring this mixture to a boil in a saucepan with the zucchini and simmer for 5-10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the ham. Grease the baking dish and pour in the precooked mixture. Sprinkle everything with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at around 200°C for about 20 minutes. Any fresh herbs are suitable, e.g. rosemary, chives, dill, basil, depending on your taste. One variation would be to replace some of the zucchini with potatoes. In this case, I recommend a slightly longer baking time, about 25 minutes.
