Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 100 g cheese (Gouda/Emmental), grated
  • 1 tsp butter
  • herbal salt
  • a few stalks of basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cut the stems off the tomatoes and slice them. Slowly heat the butter in a pan and add the tomato slices. Fry lightly for 1 minute, season with salt, turn, and place on the slices of white bread. Now crack the eggs into the pan, season with salt, and sprinkle with cheese. Immediately cover and wait until the eggs are set and the cheese has melted. Then place the tomato slices on the already sandwiched white bread, cover with a second slice of white bread, and press down gently. If you like, you can also add a fresh basil leaf!
