Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 pack of toast bread (wheat toast)
  • 2 packs of mozzarella
  • 3 tomatoes
  • Flour and eggs for breading
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil
  • basil

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Toast with mozzarella and tomatoes

Eight slices. Coat the toast with flour and egg and fry until golden brown on both sides. Preheat oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Top four slices of toast with tomatoes and mozzarella, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Season with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and basil. Top with the remaining four slices of toast and press down lightly. Bake in the hot oven for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
