Apple compote with honey

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g apples
  • 50 ml white wine (Traminer or similar)
  • 1 tbsp honey (preferably rapeseed honey)

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Wash the apples and core them. Steam them with a little water. Once the apples are cooked (popped), pass them through a coarse sieve (my grandmother always did this). I then add 1 to 3 tablespoons of mild summer honey or rapeseed honey to 500g of compote. This gives it a special flavor. A splash of white wine (Gewürztraminer) is also delicious. Another tip for preserving: Fill 500g yogurt jars with screw-top lids and heat them in the microwave (450 watts) for about 2 minutes. Then immediately screw on the lid and place it on top.
