Smoked mackerel on toast

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 large mackerel, smoked, 400 g
  • 4 leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cucumber(s)
  • 1 carrot(s)
  • 100 g cream cheese, light
  • 1 tbsp horseradish
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 2 sprigs of dill
  • 4 slices of toast

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Mix the cream cheese with horseradish, lemon juice, and finely grated carrot. Season with salt, pepper, and finely chopped dill, and spread it on the toasted bread. Place a lettuce leaf and three slices of cucumber on top. Skin the mackerel, fillet it, cut it into pieces, and place it on top. Variations: Use double cream cheese or a fried salmon fillet.
