Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • n.e. Whiskey (Speyside, Lowland or Highland)
  • ¼ stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 5 cloves
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 lemon(s) – slice or some lemon squash
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Scottish-style grog

Dissolve the honey in a little hot water. Add the whiskey, adjusting the amount and source to taste. Fill the mug with boiling water. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves, and garlic clove. Let it steep for about 5 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick, cloves, and garlic clove. Now add the lemon slice or lemon squash, stir well, and then add a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg. Serve hot.
