  • 1 small onion(s)
  • some gherkins
  • some salt and pepper
  • Cucumber water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 8 hours; Total time approx. 8 hours 30 minutes

simple and very tasty

Remove the skin and bones from the mackerel. Then mash everything with a fork in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of mustard. Chop a few pickled cucumbers, if desired, and add them. Peel and finely dice a small onion, and add it. Finally, pour in a generous amount of cucumber juice and stir again. Season with salt and pepper. The fish salad now needs to marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours, or preferably overnight. This is very, very important, as only then does the flavor really come through. We usually eat the fish salad on bread or just on its own.
