Fig Jam

The perfect fig jam recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg Figs fresh
  • 500 g Preserving sugar 2: 1
  • 0,5 Lime
  • 0,5 Orange
  • 1 packet Citric acid
  1. Since our tree is very busy this year, enough is finally falling for a jam / jam.
  2. Clean the fully ripe figs. Ours do not have to be peeled, it is sufficient to remove the stem base.
  3. Squeeze half a lime and half an orange.
  4. Quarter the figs and place in a saucepan that is not too small with the preserving sugar. Add the lime and orange juice and bring to the boil while stirring.
  5. Cook according to the instructions for the sugar for 3 minutes.
  6. Put some of the mixture on a small plate and let it solidify briefly (gelling test).
  7. Now add the citric acid and stir in.
  8. Pour the jam into clean jars and close tightly.
