Liver and Apple Slices

The perfect liver and apple slices recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 450 g Pork liver
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 2 Tart apples
  • 200 ml Gravy
  • 200 ml Rama Cremefine 7%
  • 2 tablespoon Applesauce
  • 2 tablespoon Food starch
  1. Wash the liver, pat dry and cut into strips.
  2. Heat some clarified butter in a pan and sear the liver in it, add salt, pepper, remove and keep warm.
  3. Peel the onions and apples, core the apples and cut into slices.
  4. Now sauté the onions in the remaining roasting fat, add the apples and sauté briefly.
  5. Now deglaze with the meat stock and the cremefine and let the sauce reduce.
  6. Stir in the applesauce and bind with a little mixed cornstarch, you don’t have to be if you want.
  7. Add the liver again, heat briefly, do not boil.
  8. Arrange on a plate with some mashed potatoes or a side dish of your choice.
