Pea Soup with Ham

The perfect pea soup with ham recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • Olive oil
  • 750 ml Chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • 400 g Frozen peas
  • 200 g Cooked ham, alternatively diced bacon
  • 125 g Herbal cream cheese z. B. from Buko, alternatively normal cream cheese
  • 0,5 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
  • Salt pepper
  1. Heat some oil in a large saucepan. Peel onion and chop finely. Simmer in hot oil for a few minutes until translucent. Add the stock and peas. Bring to the boil and then simmer with the lid on for about 5 minutes over low heat.
  2. Puree the soup finely or coarsely as desired. Dice the ham and stir in. If you want, you can now also add a handful of whole peas. Let everything boil again. Then stir in the cream cheese and nutmeg and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
  3. This fits e.g. Herb Butter Bread.
