Pea Soup with Ham
The perfect pea soup with ham recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 Pc. Onion
- Olive oil
- 750 ml Chicken broth or vegetable broth
- 400 g Frozen peas
- 200 g Cooked ham, alternatively diced bacon
- 125 g Herbal cream cheese z. B. from Buko, alternatively normal cream cheese
- 0,5 tsp Freshly grated nutmeg
- Salt pepper
- Heat some oil in a large saucepan. Peel onion and chop finely. Simmer in hot oil for a few minutes until translucent. Add the stock and peas. Bring to the boil and then simmer with the lid on for about 5 minutes over low heat.
- Puree the soup finely or coarsely as desired. Dice the ham and stir in. If you want, you can now also add a handful of whole peas. Let everything boil again. Then stir in the cream cheese and nutmeg and season with salt and pepper if necessary.
