Christmas Cookies: Chocolate Bread
The perfect christmas cookies: chocolate bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
for the batter:
- 225 g Soft butter or margarine
- 225 g Sugar
- 6 Pc. Eggs
- 250 g Bitter block chocolate, finely grated
- 250 g Ground almonds
- 125 g Flour, preferably type 630 spelled flour
Also:
- 200 g Dark chocolate couverture
- Make a batter from the ingredients listed above. To do this, stir the butter for a few minutes on the highest setting with the whisk of the hand mixer until foamy. Sprinkle in the sugar. Stir in the eggs one at a time, about 1/2 minute each. Mix the chocolate, almonds and flour and stir in briefly on a low level.
- Place the dough on a greased baking sheet lined with baking paper and spread evenly. The dough should be about 1.5 high. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle shelf at 175 degrees top / bottom heat for about 25 – 30 minutes.
- Then cut into even small rectangles or squares, about 2.5 x 2.5 cm while still hot or warm. Melt the couverture in a water bath and cover the squares with it. It is faster if you let the dough cool down first, then glaze it with couverture and then cut it into squares.
