Mel’s Raisin Bread
The perfect mel’s raisin bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 500 g Wheat flour type 405
- 250 Milliliters Milk
- 50 g Butter
- 2 tablespoon Sugar
- 25 g Yeast or 1 packet of dry yeast
- 1 pinch Salt
- 250 g Raisins
- 1 piece Egg yolk
- Add the butter to the milk and heat to lukewarm. If the yeast is fresh, dissolve it in the warm milk.
- Put the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl and add the lukewarm milk and butter mixture.
- Knead everything well (if you like, the raisins can also be added at the end).
- Let rise in a warm place until the batter has doubled.
- Put the dough in a loaf pan and let stand again for about 15-20 minutes.
- Now brush with the egg yolk.
- Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.
- The whole thing can also be done in the bread maker … I did it this way this time and it worked great!
