Mel’s Raisin Bread

The perfect mel’s raisin bread recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Wheat flour type 405
  • 250 Milliliters Milk
  • 50 g Butter
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 25 g Yeast or 1 packet of dry yeast
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 g Raisins
  • 1 piece Egg yolk
  1. Add the butter to the milk and heat to lukewarm. If the yeast is fresh, dissolve it in the warm milk.
  2. Put the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl and add the lukewarm milk and butter mixture.
  3. Knead everything well (if you like, the raisins can also be added at the end).
  4. Let rise in a warm place until the batter has doubled.
  5. Put the dough in a loaf pan and let stand again for about 15-20 minutes.
  6. Now brush with the egg yolk.
  7. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for about 45 minutes.
  8. The whole thing can also be done in the bread maker … I did it this way this time and it worked great!
