Pasta with Red Lentil Sauce

The perfect pasta with red lentil sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Penne
  • 500 g Red lenses
  • 2 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 100 ml. Olive oil
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 Chili peppers finely chopped
  • 100 g Tomato paste
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 liter Water
  1. Peel and dice the onions and fry them in olive oil with the crushed garlic cloves.
  2. Stir in tomato paste, chillies, salt, pepper, bay leaves, lentils and water, bring to the boil and simmer for approx. 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Boil the pasta in salted water until aldente, drain in a sieve, arrange on pasta plates, cover with the lentils and serve.
  4. If you like, you can also rub Parmesan cheese over the lentil sauce.
