Matjessalat with Apple Pieces

The perfect matjessalat with apple pieces recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 6 Herring fillets
  • 2 Gherkins
  • 1 Chopped onion
  • 200 g Crème fraîche with herbs
  • 100 g Yogurt generic term
  • 25 g Ham cubes
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • 1 Apple Elstar
  1. Fry the ham cubes in a pan and leave to cool
  2. Dice the onion and cucumber. Mix the yogurt, crème fraîche and 4 tablespoons of cucumber juice together. Then season with salt, pepper and sugar. Stir in the diced ham, cucumber and onion.
  3. Dice the matjes. Peel, core and dice the apple. Put together in the sauce.
  4. With a nice piece of black bread. Yummy.
