Christmas Cookies: Chocolate and Coconut Stars

The perfect christmas cookies: chocolate and coconut stars recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 120 g Flour
  • 2 tsp Cocoa powder
  • 30 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 Pc. Egg, size L
  • 65 g Butter
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 0,25 tsp Light balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Fine desiccated coconut
  • Icing sugar and desiccated coconut for garnish
  1. Mix the flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, egg yolk and butter in flakes with the dough hook of the hand mixer, then knead with your hands to form a smooth dough. Wrap in foil and put in the fridge for approx. 1 hour.
  1. Roll out the dough thinly on a work surface dusted with flour and cut out stars (approx. 5 cm in diameter). Place the stars side by side on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  1. Beat the egg whites until stiff, gradually drizzling in sugar. Finally fold in the vinegar and desiccated coconut. Pour the mixture into a piping bag and squirt a tuff onto the center of the stars.
  1. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 175 degrees (or fan oven 150 degrees) for about 8-10 minutes. Then take it out, pull it off the tray and let it cool down. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and desiccated coconut.
