The perfect christmas cookies: crispy almond and cinnamon rolls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 role Fresh puff pastry cooling shelf
  • 40 g Butter
  • 4 tbsp Sugar brown
  • 0,5 Grated tonka bean, alternatively 1 bag of bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinammon
  • 2 tsp Natural orange flavor
  • 2 tbsp Ground almonds
  • 1 Egg
  1. Roll out the puff pastry and let it rest for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees (top and bottom heat).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then let it cool slightly. Mix the brown sugar, grated tonka bean, cinnamon and orange flavor. Whisk the egg.
  3. Brush the puff pastry evenly with the melted butter. First sprinkle with 3/4 of the sugar-cinnamon mixture, then pour the ground almonds on top.
  4. Roll up the puff pastry firmly from the long side, press the ends down a little. Use a sharp knife to cut pieces about 1 cm thick from the roll and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  5. Brush with the beaten egg, then sprinkle the rest of the sugar-cinnamon mixture on top. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until the almond and cinnamon buns are lightly browned. Guaranteed to succeed, ideal for spontaneous cravings and unexpected visitors :-). Have fun trying it out and have a nice Advent season!
