Stew: Turnips with Smoked Pork

The perfect stew: turnips with smoked pork recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 500 g Kasseler rib spear raw smoked
  • Water
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 3 Black peppercorns
  • 1000 g Turnip
  • 500 g Carrots
  • 1 pole Leek
  • 300 g Potatoes
  • Parsley crispy fresh
  • Salt and pepper
  1. Cover the kasseler with water and bring to the boil together with the bay leaf and peppercorns and cook for 30-45 minutes. If you can loosen the bones easily, the meat is done.
  2. In the meantime, peel the turnip, carrots and potatoes and cut into cubes. Clean the leek and cut into rings. Put everything in a colander and rinse thoroughly.
  3. When the meat is done, remove it from the pot, remove it from the bones, cut into cubes and set aside.
  4. Cook the vegetables in the broth. Take half of the vegetables out of the broth with a ladle and mash the other half. Put the removed vegetables back into the pot, season with salt and pepper and stir in the chopped parsley.
  5. Place the meat cubes on the stew and serve.
