Sauerkraut pot with tomatoes and smoked pork

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g sauerkraut
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 4 slices of boneless smoked pork
  • 200 g sour cream
  • 150 g sour cream
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 onions
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 100 ml water

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Dice the onions, tomatoes, and smoked pork. Heat the fat in a pan. First, fry the onions until translucent, then add the smoked pork and cook for about 2 minutes (don’t forget to stir). Add the sauerkraut and tomatoes to the pan, along with the bay leaf, salt, pepper, and tomato paste. Pour half a cup of water into the pan and let it simmer for about 10 minutes. Now add the sour cream and sour cream. Stir well and simmer for another 5 minutes. Season well with salt and pepper. Serve with mashed potatoes.
