Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 6 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Portuguese tomato sauce

Thinly slice the onion and sauté in olive oil until translucent. Peel and deseed the tomatoes and chop finely. Add the tomatoes, garlic cloves, and a tablespoon of chopped parsley to the onions. Simmer for 20 minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper. Serve the sauce with boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, omelets, or fish fillets.
