Sauerbraten from the pressure cooker

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 kg roast beef
  • 1 bag of spice(s) (sauerbraten spice)
  • 2 chili peppers, dried
  • 500 ml vinegar
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 pack of sauce gingerbread
  • n. B. Sweetener, liquid
  • salt and pepper
  • Sauce thickener

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest period approx. 2 days; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 2 days 45 minutes

Marinate the beef roast with 1 sachet of Sauerbraten seasoning and 2 dried chili peppers for 1-2 days in a broth made up of half vinegar and half water. Sear on all sides in a pressure cooker. Season with salt, pepper, and sweetener, and pour in the broth. Add a little more water. Cook in the pressure cooker for approximately 20-25 minutes. Remove the meat and keep warm. Soak the gingerbread and add it to the sauce. Bring to a boil and thicken with a sauce thickener. Strain the sauce and then season to taste.
