Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 1 mango(s), ripe
- 1 chili pepper(s), red, hot, if too mild, use 2
- 1 piece(s) of ginger root, approx. 1-2 cm
- 1 lime(s) or lemon
- 3 sprigs of mint
- salt and pepper
- some honey or syrup
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
with lime and mint, great dip for grilling
Peel the mango, remove the stone, and then chop it finely. Deseed and finely chop the chili. It should be a hot chili. Peel the ginger and finely grate it. Pluck the mint leaves from the stems and finely chop them. Juice the lime. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Season with honey, salt, and pepper, and chill. Serve with grilled meat, especially poultry, fish, or as a spread. This recipe comes from South Africa.
