- 2 eggs
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 225 ml buttermilk
- 175 g flour
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- Oil for frying
- maple syrup

Whisk the wet ingredients thoroughly, then combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Add the flour to the egg mixture and quickly stir through, then let it sit for a few minutes. To make thick American pancakes, the batter should be sticky. Lightly oil the pan and cook the batter in batches on both sides in a pan that’s not too hot until golden brown. Flip the pancakes when the tops are covered with bubbles. Serve with maple syrup.
