Baked fennel

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 2 bulbs of fennel
  • 100 ml cream
  • 100 g cheese, medium-aged Gouda in one piece
  • herbal salt
  • pepper
  • ½ tsp vegetable broth, instant
  • salt water

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

simple but delicious

Trim the greens; they will be used. Quarter the bulbs and remove the stems. Cook the fennel in boiling salted water for about 5-8 minutes, or until al dente. Drain and transfer to a casserole dish. Pour over the cream and season with herb salt, vegetable stock powder, and pepper. Finely chop the fennel greens and sprinkle over the fennel. Grate the freshly grated Gouda cheese and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 20-25 minutes.
