Baked mozzarella and tomatoes

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 4 large beefsteak tomatoes
  • 300g mozzarella
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp oil (olive oil)
  • 1 pinch of white pepper
  • 1 tbsp thyme, the leaves
  • Oil (olive oil), for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

Grease an ovenproof dish with oil and preheat oven to 220°C. Cut the tomatoes and cheese into 1cm-thick slices and arrange them in the dish in a shingle-like layer. Peel and dice the onions and garlic. Sprinkle the garlic with salt and crush it. Mix with olive oil, onions, and pepper, drizzle over the tomatoes and cheese, and bake for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with thyme and bake for another 5 minutes. Serve with white bread.
