Sour cherry jam with rum à la Gabi

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,500 g sour cherries
  • 2,000 g gelling sugar
  • 125 ml rum, brown, 54%

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Wash, stem, and pit the cherries, and roughly chop them with a hand blender. Combine the cherries with the preserving sugar, bring to a boil while stirring, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir the rum into the jam. Test for set. Pour the jam into prepared jars and seal immediately.
