Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g sugar
  • 250 g sour cherries (jar, save juice)
  • ¼ liter of water
  • e.g. lemon juice
  • 50 g cornstarch
  • 500 g berries, frozen, thawed

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Combine the sugar, cherry juice, and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Then add about 1/3 of the fruit, stirring occasionally. Once the fruit is cooked through, season with lemon juice. Whisk the cornstarch with water to thicken the porridge. Finally, add the remaining fruit and let it steep briefly. Pour into a glass bowl and refrigerate. Serve with vanilla ice cream!
