Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 7 rolls
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion(s)
  • ½ bunch parsley, flat
  • ½ tsp marjoram, dried
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • nutmeg
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Crumble the rolls, pour the warmed milk over them, and let them soak for about 15 minutes. In the meantime, finely chop the onion and parsley. Sauté in the butter with the marjoram, then let cool slightly. Knead the eggs and nutmeg into the roll mixture, then stir in the onion mixture. Let stand for about another 10 minutes, knead thoroughly, and season with pepper. Form 7-8 dumplings and let stand in boiling water for 20 minutes. Turn frequently; the water must not boil! Delicious with chanterelle mushrooms or rosemary roast pork. Slice leftovers the next day and fry in butter.
