Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 8 m.-large orange(s), possibly blood oranges
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • some water
  • some mint

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

a dessert that goes with almost everything!

Peel the oranges and cut into thin slices. They can also be filleted, if you like. Arrange them in a bowl. Caramelize the sugar, i.e., let it turn light brown in a saucepan and then deglaze with a little water (about 2 tablespoons). Dissolve the caramel and pour it over the oranges while it is still warm. If the oranges haven’t released enough juice, squeeze another orange and pour it over the oranges. Leave to infuse in the fridge until ready to serve. Garnish with fresh mint. Tastes great on its own, can also be topped with a shot of Grand Marnier or cognac, but can also be enjoyed with cream, vanilla ice cream, or yogurt.
