Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 600 g potatoes
- 600 g carrot(s)
- 1 cup whipped cream, approx. 200 g
- 1 cup of sour cream or crème fraîche, approx. 200 g
- 250 g grated cheese (Edam, Emmental)
- salt and pepper
- nutmeg
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes
Peel the potatoes and carrots and slice or grate them very thinly. Layer them alternately in a baking dish and season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mix the whipped cream with the sour cream and season generously with salt and pepper. Pour this sauce over the vegetables and sprinkle everything with the grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (top/bottom heat) for about 70 minutes. Serve hot.
