Blackberry jam made from fresh berries

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1,000 g blackberries, preferably picked yourself
  • 1,000 g gelling sugar, 1:1
  • 1 bag of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

1 kg blackberries, preferably home-picked, and rinse them several times in a cold water bath. Purée the berries with a hand blender until finely chopped. Simmer the berries in a large pot with the preserving sugar and vanilla sugar for about 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Transfer to jars that have been rinsed with hot water and have a screw cap. Pour in the jam while still hot, seal, and then leave on the cap for about 5-8 minutes. This mixture is also ideal as an ingredient in baking, for decorating cookies, or as an ingredient in homemade milkshakes.
