instead of chips, crisps and peanuts, quick and easy to make, with fewer calories and fat, low carb and high in protein
Mix all the spices with the water until well dissolved and blended. Adjust the spices to your taste. A teaspoon at a time will intensify the flavor. Then add the soy kernels and mix well until they are all coated with a layer of spice. Spread the kernels on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, ensuring they are not overlapping. Bake/roast in a preheated oven at 200°C for 5 minutes. No longer, or they will become bitter and dark, but long enough to make them dry and crunchy. They taste like seasoned nuts, but thankfully don’t have as much flavor as peanuts; their flavor is more between peanuts and almonds. The seasoning is similar to store-bought nuts, but without any flavor enhancers, starch, or anything similar, making them much healthier. The nutritional values are also convincing: Per serving (50g) soy kernels (in comparison: peanuts): 161 (285) kcal 18 (13) g protein 3 (10) g carbohydrates 9 (24) g fat
