Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 packet of baking powder

First of all: The yogurt cup is used as the unit of measurement! I use a 150g cup, but I’ve also used a 200g cup. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Pour the batter into a prepared baking pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 60 minutes. Tip: If the sponge cake batter is too boring for you, you can of course spice it up. Options include chocolate sprinkles, various yogurts (e.g., strawberry, stracciatella), fruits like cherries and pineapple, cocoa powder for marbled patterns, various glazes of your choice, and various fillings like cream and jam.
