Sour cherry syrup for lazy people

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 ½ kg sour cherries, fresh
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 kg sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

without juicing and without coring

Wash the cherries and do not pit them (otherwise the cherry pit flavor will be lost). Place them in a large pot with the water and boil for about 10 minutes. Mash the cherries repeatedly with a potato masher. Then strain the entire cherry pulp through a gauze diaper or a kitchen towel. Squeeze thoroughly; a lot of juice will still come out. We ended up with 2 liters of cherry juice. Boil the cherry juice with 1 kg of sugar and pour into clean bottles. If you like, you can fill a cherry pit pillow with the cherry pits.
