Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 bananas
  • some pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter or margarine
  • 4 slices of cooked ham
  • 1 tbsp mustard, medium hot
  • 4 slice(s) cheese, Gouda, if you like it spicier e.g. cave cheese or similar

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Banana topped with ham and cheese

Peel the bananas and season generously with pepper. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the bananas over moderate heat for about 3-4 minutes. Brush one side of the ham slices with mustard and wrap the bananas in it. Place in a suitable baking dish, top with the cheese, and bake in a preheated oven at about 180°C for 20 minutes. Tip: Serve with baguette and some cranberries – simply delicious!
