Maultaschen à la Tina – a little bit Italian

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 4 packs of Maultasche(s), depending on your hunger
  • oil
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 50 g ham, diced
  • 2 packs of tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tsp instant chicken broth
  • 200 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs
  • 100 g cheese (Gouda or Emmental), grated
  • 100 g sheep’s cheese

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Cut the Maultaschen into approximately 5 mm thick slices and cube the feta cheese. Place both in a baking dish. Add a little oil to a pot. Dice the onions and sweat briefly in the oil. Then add the diced ham and fry briefly. When the onions are golden yellow, add the passata and stir in the chicken stock. Bring to a brief boil, add the cream. Let it boil briefly again. Season to taste with salt, pepper, paprika, and the herbs. Now spread the sauce over the Maultaschen and sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top and bottom heat) for approximately 25-30 minutes. Serve with salad.
