Almond-Orange Hippen

Spread the love

Ingredients for 16 servings:

  • 500 g sugar
  • 125 g flour
  • 250 g almond(s) (leaves)
  • 200 ml orange juice
  • ½ orange(s), zest
  • 200 g butter, soft

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes

Cream the butter until fluffy, stir in the sugar, almonds, zest, and juice. Then fold in the sifted flour and let the mixture rest for about 2 hours. Then roll the mixture into small balls and flatten them. Place them on baking paper and bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius until golden brown. Unfortunately, there is no exact time specified. Shape the warm hips, either placing them over buttered baking dishes or twisting them into cones. You have to do this quickly, though, as they’ll be impossible to shape once they’re cold. The hips will keep in a cookie tin for about a week! They’re easy to fill with mousse or ice cream.
