Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 350 g currants, black, cleaned
- 350 g sour cherries, pitted
- 3 bananas
- 1 shot of brown rum
- 500 g gelling sugar (2:1)
Instructions
Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Black, red and gold with a shot of rum
Rinse the blackcurrants and pit the sour cherries. Finely puree the bananas or mash them with a fork and place them in a large saucepan. Puree the sour cherries and blackcurrants, but not as finely as the banana. Add the fruit to the pan with the bananas. Add the preserving sugar and mix well. Cook according to the recipe instructions on the preserving sugar packet. In the meantime, rinse the jam jars and lids with boiling water and let them drain briefly on a cloth. Boil the fruit mixture for about 4 minutes and add the rum. Pour everything into the jars and immediately screw on the lids. Let cool upside down. Store in a cool, dark place for later. This quantity is enough for 3 jars of 350 ml each and 2 jars of 200 ml each. If children are eating with you, omit the rum. If decorated accordingly, this could also be a Christmas present!
