  • 6 salted herring(s)
  • 3 onions
  • 2 small bay leaves
  • 8 peppercorns
  • 375 ml vinegar
  • 250 ml water

Instructions

Soak the salted herring in water for 12-24 hours, then wash them thoroughly several times to loosen the scales. Cut off the heads and peel off the black inner skin. Wash the herring again and then layer them in a small stone pot with the sliced ​​onions and spices. Mix the vinegar with the boiled, cooled water and pour the marinade over the herring. Let it marinate for 2-3 days.
