from the garden to the breakfast table

Of course, we don’t have jars of jam growing on the bush. We had plenty of blackberries this year and made them into blackberry jam and blackberry liqueur. Rinse the jam jars thoroughly and sterilize them with hot water. Wash the harvested blackberries thoroughly and place them in a saucepan. Add the gelling sugar and mix everything well. Bring the blackberries to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Let it cool slightly and blend thoroughly with a hand blender. If you don’t like seeds in your jam, strain it through a sieve to catch the seeds. Then bring it to a boil briefly and pour the still-hot jam into jam jars and seal them. Use the blackberry jam as a spread for breakfast, with pancakes, or as a dessert with vanilla ice cream.
