  • 500 g kumquat(s), untreated
  • 1 lemon(s), untreated
  • 500 g brown sugar
  • possibly Grand Marnier or similar

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 25 minutes

without gelling sugar

Wash the kumquats, halve them, and remove the seeds. Finely slice 250g of the kumquats, then add the remaining 250g to a blender. Wash the lemon, squeeze the juice, and add it to the blender. Finely slice the lemon zest. Purée the kumquats with the lemon juice in a blender. Place the kumquat-lemon puree in a saucepan along with the kumquat slices, lemon zest, and sugar and simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours. If you like, you can stir in a dash of Grand Marnier or similar shortly before the end of the cooking time. Transfer to preserving jars. This recipe works wonderfully with all citrus fruits and is delicious!
