Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

particularly quick and easy to prepare

Halve the apples with the skin on, remove the core, and cut into eighths. Halve the quinces, remove the core, and grate them into julienne strips using a food processor. Spices aren’t needed, as the quinces impart a very delicate aroma. Place both fruits in a large pot, sprinkle with sugar, and add water to a level about 1 1/2 cm below the fruit filling. Let the fruit simmer for about 10 minutes. Puréeing isn’t necessary if you’re blending the mixture with a hand blender. Fill to the brim in hot, rinsed, screw-top jars and seal immediately.
