Fresh bratwurst with boiled potatoes, green beans and béchamel sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 gr. can/n princess beans, 530 g drained weight
  • 2 tsp savory
  • 100 g diced ham
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 40 g butter
  • 40 g flour
  • salt and pepper
  • n. B. Nutmeg
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 500 g bratwurst, fresh

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Peel and wash the potatoes, cut them into large pieces, and boil them in a pot of well-salted water for 30 minutes. Heat the green beans with the savory, salt, pepper, and diced ham. Bring the milk to a boil with the bay leaf and then remove the bay leaf. Make a roux from the butter and flour, stir in the hot milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps, and bring the sauce back to a boil. Season the béchamel sauce with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Meanwhile, fry the fresh bratwurst in a pan. Arrange the bratwurst with the potatoes, green beans, and béchamel sauce and serve.
