Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 2 rolls of 270 g dough
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 150 g sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • Butter for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

makes about 15 Schillerlocken

For the Schillerlocken, cut the puff pastry lengthwise into 15 strips. Grease the Schillerlocken molds (which you can also make yourself from aluminum foil) with butter. Roll up the dough strips, starting at the pointed end, so that they overlap by about half the width of the dough. Whisk the egg yolk with the milk and brush the Schillerlocken with it. Mix the sugar and vanilla sugar and roll the rolled dough in it. Place the Schillerlocken on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 10 minutes on the middle rack, until golden brown.
