Pear compote with vanilla ice cream

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 150 ml apple juice
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 anise (star anise)
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 2 bulb(s)
  • 2 scoops of ice cream (vanilla)
  • Chocolate, dark
  • Lemon balm

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Extra low in fat

Combine the juice, cinnamon, maple syrup, and anise in a small saucepan. Split the vanilla pod and scrape out the seeds. Add the seeds and pod to the juice and heat. Peel, halve, and core the pears. Sauté the pear halves in the juice for about 5 minutes. Remove from the heat. Serve the warm pears with a scoop of ice cream on top. Grate the chocolate over the pears using a vegetable peeler. Garnish with lemon balm and enjoy immediately.
