Simple & uncomplicated

This recipe is designed for 2 liters of iced tea. First, brew 500 ml of black tea and pour it into a carafe. I like to use two tea bags for a more intense flavor. You can also vary the brewing time depending on the desired intensity of the tea flavor. I always let the bags steep for about 5 minutes. Then, wash a lemon thoroughly and cut it into slices or cubes. I recommend using an organic lemon from Germany and brushing it with a vegetable brush. You certainly don’t want any pesticides or anything like that in your iced tea. Then, add the lemon slices to the still-hot, brewed black tea. Let the lemon-tea mixture cool; I like to refrigerate it overnight after about 30 minutes. Once everything has cooled, add the strawberry syrup. At 6 tablespoons, the iced tea will already be quite sweet, so for those who don’t like it quite so sweet, I recommend using about 4 tablespoons of syrup. Finally, top up your tea-syrup-lemon mixture with chilled mineral or tap water. Sparkling water will give your iced tea a nice tang. Then pour into attractive glasses and add ice cubes – and your strawberry-lemon iced tea is ready!
