Orange cake from the tray

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ cup(s) sugar
  • 2 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup orange juice (100% fruit content)
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp orange juice

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

quick cake

Combine the flour, sugar, vanilla, baking powder, eggs, oil, and juice in a bowl. Using a hand mixer, whisk everything together, first on low speed and then on high, until a creamy batter forms. Line a baking tray with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-assisted). Spread the batter onto the baking tray and place in the oven. Bake for 30-40 minutes. Check that the cake is cooked through with a skewer every now and then. Remove from the oven and let cool. Whisk the icing sugar with the orange juice until smooth and spread over the cake. Let the cake cool completely.
